Emile E. Gagne, 92, of Gardner, died peacefully July 15, 2010 in Parsons Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Worcester, after a lengthy illness.
Emile was born in St. Felix De Kingsey, Quebec, Canada on May 4 1918 a son of the late Mederick and Grace (Pepin) Gagne, and has lived in Gardner for the last 30 years. His beloved wife Theresa M. (Forest) Gagne died in 2002.
Emile worked for many plastic manufacturing companies prior to his retirement 30 years ago. During World War II he proudly served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He most notably battled on the beaches of Normandy. Emile always remained active in his community. He volunteered his time at the former Gardner Senior Center where he ran bingo for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and playing pool as well.
Emile will be sadly missed by 3 daughters; Karyn E. Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Linda L. Shea of Gardner, MA, and Mary T. Morin of Ashburnham, MA , 4 sons; Lawrence D. Gagne of Baldwinville, Edward W. Gagne of San Diego, CA, Mark A. Gagne of Baldwinville, and Wade A. Gagne of Fitchburg, MA, one brother; Joseph Gagne of Leominster, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Emile's life by gathering for a calling hour in the Lamoureux-Fletcher Community Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, on Tuesday July 20th, 2010 from 9-10AM. A funeral mass will be held in Saint Vincent dePaul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville, on Tuesday July 20th at 11AM. Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, West St. Gardner, following the Mass.
