(Garant) Pease, formerly of Pleasant St. in Baldwinville, died peacefully Sunday July 11, 2010 at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner. Berthe, daughter of the late Romulus A. and Lena M. (Oakes) Garant, was born in Baldwinville on January 5, 1914 and lived here all of her life. Her beloved husband, Paul J. Pease, died April 19, 2002. She graduated from Templeton High School, class of 1932 and later Worcester State College, Class of 1936. Berthe was a school teacher with the Templeton Center School for over seven years and was Librarian at Narragansett Regional High School for twelve years, retiring in 1984. Berthe was a member and past president of the Templeton Women's Club and the Baldwinville Women's Club. She was a member of the Girl Scouts Council, the Narragansett Historical Society, the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association and St. Vincent dePaul Parish in Baldwinville. Berthe will be sadly missed by her daughter, Patricia E. Aveni and her husband Vincent of Dover, New Hampshire and several nephews and nieces. Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Berthe's life by gathering for her Funeral Mass in St. Vincent dePaul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11AM. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville. It being her request there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Templeton Rescue Squad, 2 School St., Baldwinville, MA 01436.
