Edwin "Uncle" H. Hall, 81, of Gardner, died Thursday morning February 4, 2010, after being stricken ill.
Edwin was born in Gardner September 11, 1928, son of the late Harold and Sophie (Kauppi) Hall, and lived here all his life. Edwin proudly served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army. Prior to his retirement Edwin was employed with Mount Wachusett Community College for many years.
Edwin was a member of the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner. He was a former member of the Gardner Lodge of Elks, and the Napoleon Club. When he was younger he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and umpiring in the city softball league.
Edwin will be sadly missed by one sister; Etta Hubert of Gardner, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers; Paul, Robert, Alden, Richard, Bernard, and Harold Hall, and one sister; Winona Martell.
Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Edwin's life by gathering for his funeral service in LAMOUREUX-FLETCHER COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 105 Central St., Gardner on Tuesday February 09, 2010 at 11am. Rev. Scott Grimshaw will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenbower Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 10am until 11am. Should friends desire, donations in Edward's memory may made to a charity of one's choice.
