Richard "Ric" F. Sanford, 66, of Gardner, died Thursday January 28, 2010 at the Legend Center in Gardner after a brief illness.
Ric was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on May 20, 1943 son of the late Richard F. and Mildred (Rayburn) Sanford DiCiccio and was raised by his mother and step-father, the late Edmund J. DiCiccio. Ric graduated from Lincoln High School in Midland, Pennsylvania class of 1961 and was co-owner and operator of the former Academy of Danse and Theater Arts in Gardner and also the Ballet Allegro in Gardner which performed "The Nutcracker" annually for many years.
Ric is survived by his partner and companion of 32 years; Robert H. Davis, two brothers; Edmund DiCiccio and his wife Johanna of Davenport, Iowa and David DiCiccio and his wife Tina of Astabula, Ohio.
Family and friends are planning to celebrate and honor Ric's life by gathering for a Memorial Service in Lamoureux-Fletcher Community Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 2PM. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in his memory be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Waltham, MA 02451-1942
